Louis van Gaal is concerned that Manchester United's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa today shows they may not be able to fight for the Premier League title.

The Red Devils conceded in the 18th minute at Villa Park before fighting back to level through Radamel Falcao in the 53rd minute.

Manchester City beat Crystal Palace 3-0 to extend their lead over Manchester United in second, while league leaders Chelsea play on Monday night.

Van Gaal feels that drawing matches of the kind of away at Aston Villa is not title winning form.

"Yes, that's what I mean", he was quoted as saying by ITV, when asked if dropping points at grounds like Villa Park would torpedo a title charge.

"We dropped two points", Van Gaal continued.

"We were the better team and that's frustrating when you're the better team and you don't win these kind of games.

"When you want to be a part of the title race you have to win these games."

Manchester United sit third in the Premier League, seven points behind Manchester City and Chelsea.
