Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola is under consideration as one of the candidates to take over at Cagliari.

Current Cagliari coach Zdenek Zeman is on the verge of being dismissed, with his job hanging by a thread due to poor results at the Serie A side.

Cagliari currently sit 18th and in the relegation zone in Serie A, having collected just 12 points from 16 games.

The Rossoblu are now looking at contenders to replace Zeman, according to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset – and Zola is in the mix.
