Barcelona have already initiated contact with Neymar’s father regarding a contract extension for his son at the Camp Nou.
The Brazil captain joined the Catalan giants in the summer of 2013 and along with Lionel Messi, is one of the pillars of the team.
He still has more than three years left on his contract, but Barcelona are not ready to take any chances with the future of their asset and are working on a new contract for the Brazilian superstar.
According to Catalunya-based daily Sport, the Catalan giants have already initiated contact with Neymar’s father, who is also his agent, to negotiate a new contract for his son.

The new contract will extend his stay at the Camp Nou until the summer of 2022 and Neymar will also receive a hefty pay rise, in line with his status at Barcelona at the moment.
Neymar and his father are understood to be excited about Barcelona’s proposal and by the end of the season, the Brazilian superstar is expected to sign on the dotted line.
“I hope to spend more time at Barcelona than the three years left”, Neymar told reporters in Sao Paulo.
The buy-out clause will remain at the jaw-dropping figure of €190m.
