Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has praised manager Jose Mourinho’s management style and labelled him a great manager.

The 27-year-old midfielder signed for the Londoners at the start of the current season after three below par years at his childhood club Barcelona.

Following Arsene Wenger’s decision to forego the first option to buy that he had on the midfielder, Fabregas made an unexpected move to Chelsea, where he has undergone a resurgence under Mourinho.

Praising the Portuguese’s coaching, Fabregas told Radio Marca: “Mourinho adapts to the players he has. What makes him so great as a coach is that he adapts to any situation and his teams can play in many different ways.

“It's a very intelligent way of managing", he further added.

Playing under the new manager, Fabregas has recorded a Premier League leading 11 assists and scored a solitary goal against Crystal Palace. Currently, Chelsea sit atop the league table and have qualified for the Champions League round of 16 as group winners.

Fabregas will look to add to his two goals and four assists in the competition when the Champions League action resumes in February.
