Sassuolo are holding talks with striker Leonardo Pavoletti over extending his contract, in a bid to ward off interest next month.

Pavoletti has firm admirers in English Championship side Leeds United and the club pushed to sign him during the summer transfer window.




Catania, Bologna, Bari and Palermo are all also keen on the hitman ahead of the January window.

 


But Sassuolo are talking to Pavoletti over an extension to his current contract.

And the Serie A side are growing increasingly positive he will put pen to paper, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

Pavoletti's current deal with Sassuolo is due to expire next summer.

He has so far made eight appearances in Serie A this term, scoring once.
