Stephen Warnock says feeling wanted at Leeds United has made a big difference to his game, with current boss Neil Redfearn treating him differently to predecessor Darko Milanic.

The experienced left-back has been handed the captaincy on no less than five of the eight games Redfearn has been in charge as permanent boss.

Under Milanic, Warnock was left on the bench for clashes against Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City.

And the defender is happy to have been restored to prominence by Redfearn, something which means he can truly enjoy his football at Elland Road once again.

"I'm just trying to enjoy myself", the former Liverpool man told LUTV.

"When I first came into the club there were a lot of managerial changes and I think it's quite obvious to people that I was surplus to requirements under the last regime – and that told a little bit.

"When you feel wanted and you feel part of it, you start to enjoy yourself and show your true self, and how you can play. Hopefully people are seeing that", Warnock added.

So far this term the 33-year-old has clocked up 19 appearances in the Championship for the Whites, scoring a single goal and providing three assists.
