Newcastle United flop Hatem Ben Arfa has agreed to move to Ligue 1 side Nice in January.

Nice coach Claude Puel wants the talented winger to give his squad a boost for the second half of the campaign and Ben Arfa is on the lookout for a new club.

He had been set to see out the season on loan at Hull City, but fell out of favour with boss Steve Bruce.

According to local daily the Nice Matin, Ben Arfa has given the green light to joining Nice.

Now the French club must agree a deal with Newcastle to push through the move.

Nice want the Magpies to terminate Ben Arfa's contract at St. James' Park, to help smooth through a switch, and are already in discussions with the Premier League outfit.
