Nice have strong competition for the signature of Newcastle United flop Hatem Ben Arfa after a whole host of French clubs joined the race for his services.

Ben Arfa has seen his season-long loan deal with Hull terminated after he fell foul of Tigers manager Steve Bruce.

The French winger is returning to parent club Newcastle, although manager Alan Pardew has made clear that he is surplus to requirements at St. James' Park.

Ben Arfa has already agreed to join Nice if they can do a deal with Newcastle, but now several other French sides want the winger.

Newcastle could terminate Ben Arfa's contract, making him a free agent.
