Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers claims he has not thought about letting Mario Balotelli leave the club next month.

Balotelli was left on the bench throughout Liverpool's 1-0 win over Burnley yesterday and cannot even get into the side at Anfield with Daniel Sturridge out injured.

He has been linked with a return to Italy, a loan move to Inter mooted, while his agent Mino Raiola is thought to be assessing interest in his client.

But Rodgers says he has not considered the possibility of letting Balotelli go, while not completely ruling it out.

"It's not something I've even thought about to be honest", he told a press conference.

"We've had a lot of games this season and a lot of competitions and at this moment in time the key for me is to try to keep the squad together."

Liverpool are next in action on Monday when they face Rodgers' former club Swansea City.
