Manchester United vice-captain Michael Carrick thinks his side's attack is simply overflowing with world-class players.

The Red Devils continued their recent run of good results yesterday by thrashing Newcastle United 3-1 at Old Trafford, with Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao in fine form.

Rooney scored a brace in the game, while Van Persie added the Red Devils' third to truly put the contest to bed.

Carrick is not surprised by Manchester United's attacking potency though, telling his club's site: "That’s four world-class players you’re talking about there [in Mata, Rooney, Van Persie and Falcao].

"Going in to a game with those lads in your team gives us a real threat and a lot of confidence, knowing we can create chances and score goals", he continued.

"It clicked together nicely and hopefully in the weeks coming up we’ll see something similar."

Manchester United, who sit third in the Premier League table, are next in action tomorrow away at White Hart Lane against Tottenham Hotspur.
