Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva feels manager Brendan Rodgers' familiarity with Swansea boss Garry Monk will come handy when the two sides face off tonight.

Lucas has become a regular of late in the Liverpool starting eleven after sitting for the majority of the season on the bench; he has appeared in the last eight of nine matches Liverpool have played.

Liverpool will be looking for their third consecutive victory against the Welsh club, their last match finished 2-1 in favour of the Reds in the League Cup.

However, Lucas does not feel it will be easy and called Swansea “a very good side”.

"They are a very good side, we played them in the League Cup and they have fantastic players and they pass the ball well. They are always dangerous and looking to score goals”, he told Premier League Productions.

Rodgers was at the helm of Swansea from 2010 until the summer of 2012 before he took on the Liverpool job. The current manager of the Welsh outfit was their captain when Rodgers was in charge.

And Lucas believes Rodgers’ inside knowledge of the opponents will help his team.

"Brendan knows a lot about their manager [Monk], as he was his player.

"It will always help to know the way they are thinking. But it's what you do on the pitch as a team that will help you win games."
