Torino have made contact with Emmanuel Adebayor's representatives in an attempt to put a deal in place for this month.

Adebayor has fallen out of favour at Tottenham Hotspur and has been pushed further down the pecking order by the sparkling performances of Harry Kane.

Torino spy an opportunity to snap up the former Arsenal hitman and, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, have made contact with the player's representatives.

However, an obstacle which must be overcome for the Serie A side is Adebayor's high salary demands.

He is thought to earn around £80,000 per week at White Hart Lane, a sum which is unaffordable for Torino.

Torino have struggled for goals this term and have managed just 12 in 16 Serie A games so far.

Adebayor is the club's dream signing to address the situation.
