Winger Oussama Assaidi has left Liverpool to join Dubai-based club Al Ahli on a permanent transfer.

The former Heerenveen winger has ended a season-long loan spell with Stoke City in order to complete a switch to the Middle East.

Liverpool have earned £4.7m from selling Assaidi, a profit on a player they paid around £2.5m to sign in the summer of 2012.

Assaidi's career at Anfield failed to take off and he was sent on loan to Stoke last season.

He penned another season-long loan deal with the Potters last summer, but is now on the move to the Middle East.

Assaidi has penned three-and-a-half-year contract with Al Ahli.

The Red Knights are looking to Assaidi to help improve a season which has so far seen them slip from comfortable champions last season to just sixth this term.
