Juventus have given up on the race to sign Wesley Sneijder and confirmed that they won’t be able to meet Galatasaray’s financial demands.
The saga appeared to have come to a standstill yesterday when the player’s agent Guido Albers said that the Turkish giants are in no way willing to sell their client this month.
And Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that they have given up on Sneijder, who has been regularly linked with Manchester United, as they are not in a position to meet the financial demands made by Galatasaray.
“Sneijder is an investment we wanted to make”, Marotta told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“But the financial requirements of Galatasaray were too high, so we have not responded.”
The Turkish giants wanted the Italian champions to pay the full release clause of €20m to buy Sneijder, while Juventus wanted to negotiate the price down to a more acceptable level.
It also emerged that the Galatasaray president Unal Aysal didn’t want to irk fans just before presidential elections by selling their star player this month.
The Dutchman, who has also been linked with Manchester United, might have to bide his time until the end of the season to seek a move away from the Turkish giants.
