Lyon head coach Hubert Fournier admits that he is eagerly waiting for the end of the winter transfer window so that the speculation surrounding Alexandre Lacazette’s future dissipates.

The Lyon boss’ worries are not uncalled for as the striker’s scintillating form for the French outfit this season has attracted interest from clubs across Europe, especially from England.

Liverpool and Arsenal have been keeping track of the Frenchman’s progress since last summer, but it is the entry of cash-rich Manchester City into the transfer saga which has created ripples at the Stade de Gerland.

The Citizens are willing to make a big-money bid for the striker and are ready to sit down at the negotiating table with Lyon officials.

Though the club president, Jean-Michel Aulas, has been insisting that Lacazette is not for sale, the speculation surrounding the player is refusing to die down.

With regards to the rumours surrounding Lacazette, Fournier said that he will be relieved once the transfer window shuts down at the end of this month.

“We will be glad once we pass the 31st January deadline”, the Lyon coach said in a press conference.
