Barcelona manager Luis Enrique believes that Lionel Messi has many more years left at the club and the Catalans are not considering a future without the stalwart at the Camp Nou.

There were reports of differences between Messi and Enrique which led to speculation of a possible departure away from Catalonia for the diminutive Argentine, but he later assured club supporters that he is not planning a move any time soon.

Barcelona’s president also reaffirmed that the 27-year-old is happy at the club and his stance of ending his playing career at Barcelona has not changed.

Enrique endorsed the Barcelona president’s views and said that Messi features heavily in his plans for the club.

"We all think that Leo Messi is going to be here for many years to come. That's what all of us at Barca want. We're not even considering the future without him”, Enrique was quoted by AS as saying.

He refused to answer questions relating to strife at the club by simply stating: "I don't want to feed controversies."

"We're ignoring all the rumours and looking for the best possible atmosphere. That's what we're looking for and that's what we have in there”, he further added.

Barcelona will take on Elche in their second leg of round of 16 Spanish Cup tie tonight; after a 5-0 win in the first leg another thumping win will firmly divert attention from dressing room strife to the action on the field.
