Brendan Rodgers has waved away talk of Liverpool making moves for Club Brugge goalkeeper Mathew Ryan and Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The Reds are thought to want both a goalkeeper and a forward this month and have been linked with making a move for the duo.

But Rodgers, who has consistently claimed Liverpool will not do much in the way of transfer business this month following a £100m plus spending spree in the summer, will not be drawn on to commenting specifically on the pair.

Asked about Ryan and Lavezzi at a press conference, he replied: "They are the latest players to be linked and I'm sure that list will continue to grow.

"[There is] nothing on that [January signings], no."

Liverpool are thought to want a new goalkeeper this month after Rodgers lost faith in Simon Mignolet and his understudy Brad Jones was injured.

And up front Liverpool have failed to show the same amount of bite as last term.
