Roma are assessing Liverpool linked FC Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka as a potential replacement target for Chelsea’s Mohamed Salah.

The Giallorossi are keen to take Chelsea’s Egyptian winger to the Stadio Olimpico this month and are already trying to negotiate a deal with the club.

But the Blues have rejected their initial offer for the former FC Basel man and are waiting for an improved offer from Roma for Salah.

Though the Italian giants are still keen on getting a deal done for the winger, they are also exploring other options in the transfer market.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, one of the players that they are assessing is Dnipro winger Konoplyanka, who came within hours of joining Liverpool in the winter transfer window last year, his club president eventually blocking his departure.

The Ukrainian international’s contract is set to expire this summer, but Inter Milan cooled their interest in him last month due to the financial cost of the deal.

Though Roma are confident that they will eventually agree a deal with Chelsea for Salah, the club are pondering over making a move for Konoplyanka as their next best option.
