Manchester United and Liverpool have initiated contact with Paraguayan outfit Cerro Porteno to enquire about their teenage striker Sergio Diaz.

The youngster has been causing ripples on the South American youth circuit with his performances and has made three senior appearances for the club.

Though just 16, Diaz already has two caps for Paraguay’s Under-20 team and has even hit the back of the net once for his national side at youth level.

Schooled at Cerro Porteno’s youth academy, the striker is attracting interest from clubs across Europe at a very young age.

And according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Manchester United and Liverpool have already enquired about Diaz’s availability with an eye on spiriting him away from South America.
