Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has held a meeting with the agent of Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches.
The Giallorossi are long time admirers of the Romanian centre-back and would like to tempt him to the Stadio Olimpico this month as they look to continue to push Juventus for the Serie A title.
Spurs have had contact with Roma for striker Mattia Destro and Chiriches could yet form part of any deal which takes the Italian to White Hart Lane.
According to Sky Italia, Sabatini has now met with Chiriches' agent to discuss a potential strategy which would see his client playing his football in Rome when the window slams shut.
Spurs are thought to be willing to part with Chiriches, signed from Steaua Bucharest in the summer of 2013, if the price is right.

Roma could also ask for Chiriches to be included in any agreement to sell Destro to the Premier League side.
However, their interest in Chiriches is not dependent on Destro moving clubs.
