The agent of Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj has confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain enquired about his client earlier this month – but claims the likelihood of any move is extremely slim.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal has vowed that the Belgium international will not leave Old Trafford in the current transfer window, despite him handing the winger little in the way of consistent regular first team football.

PSG coach Laurent Blanc is desperate to add a left winger to his squad this month and Januzaj's agent Dirk De Vriese concedes that the French champions did come knocking on the door for his client.

But Van Gaal is counting on the winger and his agent feels the Dutchman has made Manchester United's position clear, making the chances of a switch for Januzaj slim.

"Louis van Gaal has announced that he can't leave this winter. As he stated one month ago, Adnan is not authorised to leave on loan, nor via a transfer this winter", the agent told Foot Mercato.

"The coach considers him an important player in the squad. He counts on everyone. This is a decision which appears to be quite definite.

"I don't think that this can change. Those were quite definite words."

And on PSG's approach, De Vriese admits that the French champions did want to snap up his client: "Yes, PSG have been in contact this winter.

"Paris have made direct enquiries with Manchester United."

Januzaj played all 90 minute of Manchester United's last game, a 0-0 draw in the FA Cup away at League Two outfit Cambridge United.
