Italian outfit AC Milan have confirmed that they have signed Salvatore Bocchetti on loan from Spartak Moscow until the end of the season.

The Rossoneri will have the option of making the deal permanent at the end of the season, should Bocchetti impress during his time at the San Siro.




Having started his career as a youngster with Ascoli, the 28-year-old moved to Russia to join Rubin Kazan at first in 2010 and Spartak Moscow in 2013.

The Italian, who is the third player to leave the Russian outfit in the winter transfer window with Roman Shirokov and Tino Costa having already left for FC Krasnodar and Genoa respectively, has expressed his delight at having been given the opportunity to return to his country.
 


"I am extremely happy to return to Italy after four years abroad", Bocchetti told his new club's official site.

"I really missed my country.

"Everything has happened so quickly. Let's wait and see what can I do. I will certainly give my all to help the team."

The club on their part also released a statement confirming the player's arrival, adding that the former Genoa player is at the Madonnina clinic to complete his medical.

"Spartak Moscow defender Salvatore Bocchetti has arrived at the Milan La Madonnina clinic and will undergo a medical on Wednesday morning.

"Once this is completed, Bocchetti will become a Milan player for the coming months."

The Italian managed five appearances for Russian side Spartak Moscow this season. 

Bocchetti's new team are all but out of the Serie A title race at the moment sitting eleventh in the table with 26 points from 20 matches.
