Arsenal custodian David Ospina has insisted that he is very happy to be at the club and has thanked his team-mates for the warm welcome that he has been given post his arrival in London.

The Colombian signed from French outfit Nice this summer for a fee in the region of €5m, but has found his chances limited due to injury and the presence of Wojciech Szczesny.

The 26-year-old has in fact managed five appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this season, managing three clean sheets

However, Ospina stresses that he is happy to be at the Emirates Stadium, insisting that England is a great country and London is a "lovely city" to live in.

“Yes, I’m very happy here”, Ospina told his club's official site.

“My family has adapted really well so that’s great. England is a great country and London is a lovely city."

Highlighting the challenge of learning the language in England, Ospina said that as time has passed he has become accustomed to the atmosphere, while also being helped by his friends.

“Everything is a bit of a challenge in the beginning. The language is an issue of course.

“As time goes on you adapt more and more, and as I mentioned I’ve been shown a very warm welcome so that helps a lot. I hope to learn English as quickly as possible."

With players such as Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla also being at Arsenal, the former Nice player revealed that he often ends up speaking in both French and Spanish too, being fluent in both.

“I speak with all of the players here. There are quite a few French and Spanish players here, so I do end up speaking [those languages] quite a bit.

"I feel very happy and proud to be at a great club like Arsenal.

"I hope that I can do well here in order to create more opportunities for Colombian players in the future.”
