The English Football Association as fined Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho £25,000 for his comments about the referee following Chelsea’s 1-1 draw at Southampton on 28th December.

The Chelsea manager was livid after several key decisions went against his team at St. Mary’s and hinted that the referee was biased against the Blues.

He also went on to say that there is a conspiracy against his side as Chelsea were often found to be on the wrong side of some questionable decisions.

The FA has taken note of Mourinho’s comments and has passed sanctions against him in the form of a £25,000 fine for improper conduct. They have also warned him over his future behaviour.

The FA statement read: “Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, Jose Mourinho has been fined £25,000 after he was found to have breached FA Rules in relation to media comments.

“The Chelsea manager denied that comments he made after the game against Southampton on 28 December 2014 constituted improper conduct in that they alleged and/or implied bias on the part of a referee or referees, and/or brought the game into disrepute.

“The Independent Regulatory Commission found the comments were a breach of FA Rule E3 in that they were improper and brought the game into disrepute. The Commission did not, however, find that the comments implied bias on the part of a referee or referees.

“Mr Mourinho, who had requested a non-personal hearing, was also warned as to his future conduct.”

Mourinho will now try to steer clear of further trouble with the FA in the current campaign as he leads the Blues in the Premier League and the League Cup, domestically.
