Inter Milan are pondering over making a move for Fiorentina full-back Micah Richards in the winter transfer window.

The England international joined La Viola on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City last summer, but has made only four league appearances for the Florence-based club.

The 26-year-old is believed to be looking for a way out of the club, but as he has already played for two different clubs this season, joining a third side is seemingly out of question under FIFA rules.

Inter are interested in making a move for Richards this month and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the player’s representatives are trying to work out a method where he can wear the Nerazzurri jersey this season.

Richards’ legal team are trying to argue his case by saying that Richards played for Manchester City in the Community Shield, which should be regarded as a pre-season game.

According to the player’s representatives, the England international has played only for Fiorentina in the proper season, therefore he should be allowed to join another team.

Roberto Mancini, who managed Richards at Manchester City, is keen on taking him to the San Siro, but Inter are trying to make sure each and every loose end is tied before they try to sign the full-back this month.
