Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino concedes he was given more than a few nervy moments against Sheffield United in their League Cup semi-final second leg tonight, after his side drew 2-2 on the night and reached the final 3-2 on aggregate.

Both sides encountered difficult conditions, with the wind strong and snow floating down. But Spurs put themselves in control when Christian Eriksen curled home a superbly taken free-kick in the 28th minute.

2-0 up on aggregate, as the clock ticked down, it seemed Spurs were coasting into the final against Wembley.

But up popped 18-year-old substitute Che Adams, who turned the game on its head with a quickfire double, striking in the 77th and 79th minutes to put Sheffield United 2-1 up. The momentum was with the Blades and Spurs were wobbling.

However, as extra time loomed, Harry Kane produced a superb pass to play in Eriksen, and with just two minutes left, the Dane, keeping his composure, slotted the ball home to take Spurs to Wembley with a 2-2 draw on the night.

Pochettino admits it was not all smooth sailing and says at times he was certainly worried.

"For sure I was worried, it is football! Over the two legs we deserved to go to Wembley, but you need to create chances, score and kill the game", he told the BBC.

"We gave the possibility to Sheffield and when they scored the second goal it was difficult.

"Football is emotion. Now we are happy for the players, they deserve the right to play at Wembley and for our supporters it is the most important goal."

Now though the Argentine is relishing the final at Wembley in March, where Chelsea will provide the opposition in a London derby, with it being his first showpiece event at the national stadium.

"It is my first final at Wembley, it is new to me and new to a lot of our players, but we will enjoy it."
