The father of Manchester United midfield starlet Andreas Pereira believes that Paris Saint-Germain would be a good club for his son to move to.

Pereira's contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season and no extension has yet been signed to keep the 19-year-old at Manchester United.

Marcos Pereira says that his son, who represented Belgian from Under-15 level to Under-17 level before switching to Brazil Under-20s, is desperate to make his mark with the Red Devils.

However, if Manchester United will not present him with such an opportunity, Pereira senior says his son would be happy to play for the French champions, feeling they would represent a good switch.

Speaking to Canal Supporters Club, he said: "Of course we've heard about this rumour [involving PSG], but we don't even know if PSG have had contact with Manchester United.

"All I can say is that my son wants to play and progress, and for the moment this is not the case.

"United are one of the biggest clubs in the world, but if they want to sell him now, PSG would be a good club.

"His price? It's very complicated to say. He is out of contract in six months, and it depends if United want to sell."

Born in Belgium, the 19-year-old midfielder joined the ranks at Dutch side PSV Eindhoven before being tempted to continue his development at Manchester United, linking up with the English giants in 2011.

Pereira made his only Manchester United appearance this season in the club's humiliating 4-0 League Cup defeat to League One side MK Dons.
