Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher is undergoing a medical at West Ham ahead of his proposed move to Upton Park.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal confirmed earlier this afternoon that Fletcher was at West Ham for talks over a proposed switch to Sam Allardyce’s side.

Despite his contract expiring this summer, Manchester United have granted the Scot a free transfer and according to the BBC, he is undergoing a medical at West Ham this afternoon.

Fletcher has only made 12 appearances for the Red Devils this season and is looking to end his long association with the club in the winter transfer window.

West Brom and Valencia were also interested in signing the midfielder, but it seems Fletcher is on his way to joining Allardyce’s Hammers and is expected to finalise his move today or over the weekend.
