Manchester United starlet James Wilson admits he has been buoyed after scoring his first Premier League goal this season in their match against Queens Park Rangers.

Wilson, who marked his first team debut for the Red Devils with a brace against Hull City last season, has featured in ten league games for Louis van Gaal’s side.

The youngster scored his first goal of the season in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over QPR at Loftus Road.

And Wilson feels getting on the scoresheet has done wonders to his confidence, even giving him a lift day in, day out in training.

"Even in training now I have felt a lot more confident, it has helped me a lot”, he told United Review.

The England Under-20 international further added that he hopes his goal against QPR is just the first of many more to come. And he hopes Van Gaal will hand him the minutes on the pitch to score further goals in the current campaign.

"They say your first goal of the season is probably the toughest one to score.

“Hopefully that is just my first one and I can keep going game by game, getting as many minutes as I can and a few more goals.”

Wilson will look to score more goals if he is selected for Manchester United’s match against Leicester City tomorrow. The young striker played no part in Manchester United's 5-3 defeat to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in September.
