Out-of-favour Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair has joined Aston Villa on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Since his switch to Manchester City from Swansea City in the summer of 2012, the winger has made only 19 appearances for the English champions, struggling to command first team football at the Etihad Stadium.

Sinclair also spent last season on loan to West Brom, where he only made eleven appearances before returning to his parent club last summer.

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is looking to add more attacking threat to his side and believes Sinclair will provide his team an extra edge in the final third of the pitch.

"He's got great ability and I'm looking forward to working with him”, Lambert told the club’s official site, welcoming the signing of Sinclair.

“His goal record for a winger while he was at Swansea was excellent so he can add goals to the side, and he's got great pace as everyone knows about.”

Sinclair has only seen three minutes of league football at Manchester City this term and the 25-year-old is hoping to get more first team opportunities at Villa to make an impact at a club that have struggled for goals this term.

“I am still hungry to play football, that's what I told him [Lambert], and I'm looking forwarding to getting started, hopefully playing every week and enjoying my football", the winger explained.

He scored 36 goals in his 91 appearances for Swansea before joining the Citizens.
