Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has ruled out making a move for Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor as he feels the Togo forward would be too expensive for the club.

QPR are 19th in the league table and Redknapp is desperately trying to strengthen the squad this month to give the club a fighting chance to preserve their top flight status.

The former Tottenham boss is known for pulling off last minute deals in the transfer window, but he is finding it hard to identify quality players who will strengthen the QPR squad for the second half of the season.

He has stated that he is looking to sign a goalscorer this month and there has been speculation that Adebayor might leave Tottenham to join QPR.

However, veteran manager Redknapp has brushed aside the speculation and said that he doesn’t see the Togo international arriving at Loftus Road before next Monday.

The QPR boss also stated that he is looking to sign players on loan this winter and he is not sure whether Adebayor is open to making a move on a temporary deal.

"I don't see that happening”, Redknapp said in a press conference.

“He's an excellent player – you don't play for Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Tottenham if you're not.

“I wouldn't see him leaving Tottenham.

“It's too expensive a deal for us. We're looking for loans. I' don't know if he is available on loan."
