Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado has landed in England today ahead of his medical at Chelsea.

Since last week, when it emerged Chelsea are interested in signing the Colombian, the club have made rapid strides to snare Cuadrado away from Fiorentina and they have been maintaining constant contact with the player’s agent.

Initially reluctant to lose the winger at anything less than his release clause of €35m, La Viola finally agreed to sell the player for a transfer fee of €31m and with Mohamed Salah joining them on a loan deal.

His agent and the player were in Florence yesterday, finalising the last minute details of his departure from the club and according to Sky Italia, Cuadrado landed in London earlier today.

He will undergo a medical at Chelsea later today before finally sealing his switch to Stamford Bridge by signing on the dotted line.

If everything goes according to plan, the Colombian will be ready to make his Chelsea debut against Aston Villa at Villa Park next weekend.

Cuadrado will take the number 74 shirt at Chelsea. It remains to be seen whether the Blues attempt to make any other signings before the transfer window slams shut.
