Nottingham Forest have offered Stuart Pearce another role at the club after his tenure as manager was ended earlier today – and he is considering it.

Pearce, who led Forest to a run of six defeats in their last seven games following a form slump, held talks with the club's chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi this weekend, during which it was decided that he would leave his role as manager at the City Ground.

The 52-year-old, who is considered a club legend and is a former captain, has however been offered another role at the club. And it is a role that Forest insist he is considering at present.

The Championship side said in a statement: "After long discussions between owner and chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi and manager Stuart Pearce, the club has decided that Stuart will be relieved of his role as manager with immediate effect.

"Mr Al Hasawi has offered Stuart an alternative role at the club, which he is currently considering.

"The club will be making no further comment at this time."

Pearce's final game in charge as Nottingham Forest manager was Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to struggling Millwall, which proved to be the last straw and forced the club to act.

The loss leaves Forest sitting a lowly 12th in the Championship table and 13 points off the playoff places.
