Dani Alves' agent is set to head to England for talks with Manchester United as an agreement over an extended contract with Barcelona continues to look a distant prospect.

The Brazilian full-back is out of contract at the Camp Nou at the end of the season and Barcelona are unwilling to renew his deal on its current terms, despite Alves favouring a stay at the club.

Alves is looking for a three-year contract and is thought to have accepted that to earn it at Barcelona he will have to take a pay cut. However, it is unclear whether Barcelona are willing to make an offer.

As a result Alves' agent is working overtime on providing her client with alternative options.

According to Catalan daily Sport, Dinorah Santana will hold a meeting with Manchester United executives amid interest in her client from the Red Devils.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is thought to be keen to add Alves to his ranks for next term, especially with the Brazilian being available on a free transfer.

There has also been interest in the flying full-back from a number of other English clubs and the defender is not likely to be short of potential destinations if his lengthy spell at Barcelona does come to an end in the summer.
