Barcelona manager Luis Enrique was happy with his side’s win over Manchester City last night and feels that they gave a complete performance to achieve the desired result.

Two first half goals from former Premier League top scorer Luis Suarez helped the Catalan giants to register a comfortable 2-1 win over the English champions at the Etihad.

Manchester City now need to score at least twice at the Nou Camp to have any chance of progressing to the quarter-finals of the Champions League and Enrique was pleased with his side’s performance that firmly put Barcelona in the driver’s seat in their last 16 tie.

The Barcelona boss expressed his delight after the win and stressed that his side bossed the game, proving that they were by far the better of the two teams on show at the Etihad.

Though he admits that Manchester City are tough opponents, the Spaniard also feels Barcelona gave a complete performance away from home and praised his players for their night’s work.

“We played a very complete game and we should be very satisfied with that. The aim was always to win the game, we did not care too much about the precise result.

“We have to bear in mind the quality of our opponents and how difficult this tie is. I was impressed with everyone and I congratulate my players for the result and their attitude.”
