Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen has revealed that it would mean a lot for him to win the League Cup with the Lilywhites on Sunday.

Having won a number of trophies with Ajax between 2010 and 2013, including three Eredivisie titles, the 23-year-old is keen to win his first silverware for the north Londoners on Sunday in the League Cup final against Chelsea.

“It would mean a lot to win it”, Eriksen told his club's official site.

"I got used to winning trophies at Ajax, so it would be great to win something here.”

The Danish international will still have his side's 5-3 New Year's Day win against the Pensioners fresh on his mind, but feels that given Chelsea's current form, a repeat of a similar performance is going to be tough.

“There’s no doubt they will remember New Year’s Day, but they are a really strong team and there have been a few games since then."

The need to show competitiveness and intensity will therefore be key for Mauricio Pochettino's team at Wembley, according to Eriksen.

"We need to compete again, be even more intense and show even more will to win.”

Eriksen will also be cautious about the revenge aspect from Chelsea as Jose Mourinho's team also look to seal their first trophy of the season on Sunday.

“I’m looking forward to it and anything could happen. I’m sure Chelsea will want their revenge but we’re ready for that."

Nerves are also going to play crucial role in determining the fate of the trophy as the stakes will be high while playing at Wembley, Eriksen added.

“It’s a cup final, there will be different nerves from everyone and it’ll be an intense game."
