Frank de Boer has ruled out leaving Ajax for Liverpool and, by extension, Newcastle United, in the summer, by pledging to stay put.

De Boer has been strongly linked with leaving the club he has led to the last four successive Dutch titles, but has now vowed to continue his work at the Amsterdam ArenA.

Earlier this term, when Brendan Rodgers was struggling at Liverpool despite spending over £100m in the transfer market, De Boer was mooted as a strong contender to replace the Northern Irishman this summer, while at Newcastle, John Carver has been viewed as a placeholder until the end of the season.

But De Boer has told Ajax director of football Marc Overmars and his agent that he intends to remain at the Dutch champions into next term.

"Absolutely nothing is happening", De Boer told a press conference when asked about potential approaches for his services.

"I feel happy here.

"Liverpool? They can speak to Marc or call my agent, who will give an appropriate answer.

"I am one hundred per cent sure of staying."

De Boer faces almost mission impossible to help Ajax retain their crown this season, with PSV Eindhoven 14 points clear at the top of the Eredivisie table.

However, Ajax do have the opportunity to cut PSV's lead to eleven points this coming weekend, when they take on their rivals at the Philips Stadion in an Eredivisie contest.

The season's earlier match between the two at the Amsterdam ArenA resulted in a 3-1 win for PSV.
