Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn feels that he will need to add four to five players to his squad over the summer transfer window to equip the team for next term.

Following a good run of form, Leeds now find themselves ten points clear of the relegation zone in the Championship and Redfearn has started to think about what will be required for next season.

He saw his side throw away a two-goal lead over Watford at Elland Road on Saturday to go down to a 3-2 defeat, which makes it two defeats on the bounce for the Whites following a midweek loss at Brighton.

Redfearn is delighted with the progress of the youngsters in his team, but believes quality needs to be brought in around them for Leeds to prosper.

He told LUTV: "Definitely [I need players]. You are spot on [that we need four or five players in the squad].

"I think we've done well to get ourselves out of the mess, but we're not out of it out of it. We want to finish well.

"Good sides are made of good players and we are definitely short."

The 49-year-old wants to use the remainder of the season not just to pick up as many wins as possible, but also to assess the quality he has within the squad.

"I think what we've got to do is get as many wins in as we can. But then maybe we've got to look at everybody we've got in the squad and who can and who can't.

"We've got to know what we've got, which we do, and then we've got to add better players to it."
