Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn expects midfielder Granddi N'Goyi to be able to join in again next week and is looking at trying to arrange a midweek behind closed doors match to help the player's recovery from injury.

The Whites snapped up N'Goyi on loan until the end of the season from Italian outfit Palermo in the winter transfer window. However, the midfielder has not featured yet due to an injury, a situation which has been less than ideal for Redfearn as he struggles with options in the centre of the park.

However, a former midfielder himself, Redfearn is hopeful that N'Goyi is on the comeback trail.

"He's a fair way along with his rehab, so I'm hoping that maybe next week he can start joining in again", the Leeds boss told a press conference.

"Obviously he will need a game, so we'll maybe think about arranging a game midweek and see how he comes through.

"But it's been disappointing for him because he had a little bit of a niggle to begin with and then it's aggravated it coming in playing for us.

"He'd have been a player that we could have used in these games coming up."

Redfearn also took the opportunity to provide an update on other injury absentees, with midfielder Rudy Austin out of tomorrow's Ipswich Town clash, while striker Steve Morison could feature.

"Rudy Austin is going to be out. He'll be maybe two or three weeks – I'm hoping less.

"He's got a slight thigh strain, a grade two, so that will rule him out.

"Steve Morison trained this morning so he could be back in contention.

"Tommaso Bianchi is more long term and Zan Benedicic and Aidy White."

Redfearn's side currently sit in 16th spot in the Championship table with 41 points from their 34 games so far.

The Whites have won three of their last five games, however their two defeats have come in their last two matches, with losses against Brighton and Watford respectively.
