Liverpool Under-21 starlet Jerome Sinclair is delighted with the performance of his team in their victory over Chelsea yesterday and he hopes that his form this season can fetch him first team minutes soon.

The Reds defeated Chelsea Under-21s 2-0 courtesy of strikes from Harry Wilson and Sinclair in each half.

And Sinclair is delighted with the effort his team-mates put in and insisted that he is elated with the performance of the Reds.

“I am absolutely over the moon”, Sinclair told LFC TV.

“I am so proud of the lads tonight. We came out before the game knowing that we need to put a real team performance against good football team like Chelsea.

“And we came out and did everything that was asked of us.

“I am really proud of the boys tonight.”

The youngster has been putting a lot of work with Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler to improve his finishing and he is relishing the fruits of his labour, having scored 22 goals in all competitions so far this season.

“We have been doing a lot of work on finishing, left foot, right foot, inside the box, outside the box, all different types to get an array of different finishes in my game and it is really paying off for me at the moment.”

Sinclair remains the youngest player to make his Liverpool first team debut and the youngster was in Brendan Rodgers’ squad that travelled to Turkey to take on Besiktas in their Europa League tie last week.

The Englishman is pleased to be on the verge of Liverpool first team and he feels that if he keeps scoring at the rate he is, he will soon be in the reckoning for first team action.

“Being part of the first team was something special. It was good to be involved in the first team squad.

“Hopefully, I can get in the first team again and if keep and if I keep scoring goals then it shouldn't be so far away.”
