West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has revealed his frustration with Winston Reid’s indecisiveness over his future and said that the club have made an ‘exceptionally good offer’ to the defender.

The New Zealand defender’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, but he is yet to agree a new deal and many believe the player is keen to leave Upton Park.

Talk of Manchester United and Arsenal being interested in Reid have being doing the rounds for the last few months and it has been speculated that both are looking to sign him on a free transfer this summer.

The speculation surrounding an important member of his squad is finally getting to Allardyce and he revealed his frustration with the defender’s indecisiveness over his future.

The Hammers boss insisted that West Ham have made a good offer to the player, but they are finding it difficult to extract an answer from Reid one way or the other.

"I have absolutely no idea”, Allardyce was quoted as saying by the club’s official site, when asked if Reid is staying.

“He has an exceptionally good offer on the table, but he won’t make a decision either way.

“We cannot get a decision out of him, unless we torture him. Cocktail sticks under the nails or ring up Jack Bauer [a fictional TV character], I’m sure he could get the answer out of him."

Despite the uncertainty around his future, Reid has continued to remain an important of Allardyce’s West Ham squad and has made 27 appearances in all competitions this season as the Hammers bid to finish in a European spot in the Premier League
