Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Louis van Gaal should just ignore the criticism thrown his way and concentrate on his task at Manchester United.

Though Manchester United are fourth in the league and are in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, the Dutchman has come in for criticism for their style of play and below par performances.

Many believe Van Gaal has tried to tinker with the club’s original ethos of free flowing attacking football and divert them towards a more patient, possession-based game, which some believe has killed the flair in their play.

Though the former Ajax boss is insistent that his ways would eventually bring back the glory days to Old Trafford, the criticism surrounding his coaching style is refusing to die down.

Wenger, whose Arsenal team will travel to Old Trafford this Monday for their FA Cup quarter-final clash, believes people will always try to find new figures to criticise, so the Dutchman should just concentrate on the job at hand and ignore the critics.

“Today it’s like that”, Wenger said in a press conference when asked about the criticism surrounding Van Gaal.

“The rule is every day you have to criticise somebody or you don’t sleep well overnight.

“Because we are in a public job, we have to accept that.”
