Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has said that the Reds’ opponents Swansea have coped well in the absence of Wilfried Bony and Brendan Rodgers’ side should be wary of the threat posed by their hosts.

Rodgers’ men have enjoyed a stellar run of form and have been undefeated in the league since the turn of the year, a run that has seen them climb to fifth in the table as they look finish among the top four by the end of the season.

Swansea are currently occupying ninth spot in the table and Carragher feels that their manager Garry Monk deserves credit for the job he has done with the Welsh outfit.

“Liverpool are on a great run and are the form team in the Premier League, but Garry Monk has done a really good job there at Swansea”, he told the Liverpool website.

Bony was a talismanic presence in the Swansea strike force. His nine league goals and three assists were instrumental in helping the Welsh outfit secure important points, but the Ivorian moved to Manchester City in the winter transfer window.

And Carragher feels that Swansea have coped well in the absence of Bony.

“They lost Bony to Manchester City and we were expecting a little bit of a dip, and there was for a few results, but they seem to have pulled it back.

"Garry knows the club really well, but it's his first job in management and he's done a fantastic job.”

A win for Liverpool at the Liberty Stadium tonight will see them strengthen their chances of spot in the Premier League’s top four come the season’s end.
