Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn has renewed his call for the club to make loan additions, stressing that any new signings would arrive with the longer term in mind.

Redfearn has identified a number of players he would like to bring into Elland Road on loan while the emergency loan window remains open. However, his desire has not been matched at boardroom level, with the Leeds hierarchy reluctant to add to the squad.

With Leeds now safe in mid-table in the Championship, the club's position appears unlikely to change. But the head coach has repeated his call for new faces and claims they would be signed with more than just a short term fix in mind.

He told a press conference: "We are where we are at the moment. We know there are players out there, players that I think would benefit the team, and not just in the short term, but in the long term as well."

However, Redfearn does expect to have more bodies available for selection soon, with injured players on their way back.

"We have had a spate of injuries – Rudy Austin has been out, Sam Byram has been out, Granddi N'Goyi has been out.

"But they seem to be making their way back now, I don't think it will be too long before they are available."

Leeds are next in action tomorrow evening when they take on strugglers Fulham at Craven Cottage in a Championship clash and Redfearn may have at least one of the injured trio at his disposal, although he was reluctant to say who that might be.
