Newcastle United manager John Carver insists that it is his job to prepare the team's talents for the biggest challenges, but he also feels that it may not be the right time for youngsters to play against Arsenal.

The Magpies have lost their last two matches, against Manchester United and Everton, and are in desperate need of a win to end the month on a winning note.

However, the in-form Gunners will be a tough nut to crack, according to the Newcastle manager, who was appointed in January.

Arsenal's form will make no difference to the team's preparations though, as the 50-year-old is particularly keen to bounce back after last weekend's 3-0 loss to Everton.

"I've had big challenges in the past and this is one of the biggest. It's my job to prepare the team to bounce back from Everton", Carver said at a press conference, via his club's feed.

"[Arsenal] are a good footballing side who like to play, so we have to be patient. But we have one or two things up our sleeve."

Speaking on the issue of giving youngsters a chance, Carver added that the environment on Saturday might not be suitable for inexperienced heads, particularly because of the form that the Gunners are in at the moment.

"Saturday is not the environment for young lads, especially against an in-form Arsenal side.

"It's not the right time for them."
