Inter Milan are eyeing a deal for Club Brugge’s Belgian international right back Thomas Meunier in the summer.

With Inter in ninth in the league table, the club hierarchy are slowly accepting the fact that they are not going to be in Europe next season and therefore they are already drawing up their transfer strategy for the summer.

The Nerazzurri are looking for options in the market who will strengthen their team next term, but will also not burn a hole in their pockets and one of the names doing the rounds at the San Siro is Club Brugge full-back Meunier.

The 23-year-old Belgian international joined Club Brugge in 2011 and has quickly established himself as one of the mainstays of Michel Preud'homme’s team at the Jan Breydel Stadium.

His experience of playing in the Europa League is also one of the key reasons why Inter are keen to get their hands on Meunier at the end of the season and according to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, the club believe the deal is not going to cost them too much in terms of transfer fees or player wages.

It remains to be seen whether Club Brugge play ball with Inter at the end of the season and let the player leave for a low transfer fee or they choose to take a tough stance in negotiations for the Belgian international.

The full-back has made 41 appearances in all competitions this term for Club Brugge and has earned three caps for Belgium.
