Monaco and Arsenal are set to go head-to-head for 21-year-old Boca Juniors forward Jonathan Calleri in the summer.

Schooled at Club Atletico All Boys’ youth academy, the forward joined the iconic Argentine club last summer and has quickly established himself as one of their mainstays at La Bombonera.

His performances at Boca Juniors this season, where he has scored ten goals in all competitions, have attracted interest from clubs in Europe and Ligue 1 side Monaco have been closely following his exploits in South America.

The club are ready to step up on their interest in Calleri and according to French outlet Maxifoot, Boca Juniors are soon expecting an offer for the forward from Leonardo Jardim’s side.

However, the Ligue 1 side are going to face stiff competition from Arsenal, who are also on the trail of the Argentine forward and are also interested in a summer move for the 21-year-old.
