Celtic defender Jason Denayer is relishing his call-up to the Belgium squad following his selection for the Red Devils by Marc Wilmots.

Denayer was sent on loan to the reigning Scottish champions at the start of the current season by Manchester City and the youngster has fitted well into Ronny Deila’s first team. A regular in the Norwegian’s starting eleven, the 19-year-old has made 33 appearances in all competitions so far.

The centre-back has scored five Premiership goals in his 19 appearances highlighting his threat as a goalscorer and his contributions have helped the Hoops climb to the top of the table as they look on course to win their fourth consecutive Scottish title.

His form in Scotland has caught the eye of Wilmots and he has called Denayer into the Belgium squad for tomorrow’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Cyprus which will be followed by another qualification battle against Israel on Tuesday.

And the youngster is relishing his national team call-up, saying that he is happy to have made it onto the Belgium radar.
