Stefan de Vrij says he knows nothing about strong speculation he is a priority summer transfer target for Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal in the summer.

The Dutch centre-back, who Van Gaal worked with during his time as Netherlands coach, was linked with Manchester United last summer, but instead moved to Serie A giants Lazio.

Links with Manchester United have now resurfaced, suggesting that the defender will be the subject of a summer offer from the Red Devils.

But such talk is news to De Vrij, who says he knows nothing about it and insists he is used to seeing himself at the centre of transfer talk.

Asked about links with Manchester United, De Vrij told FOX Sports: "I don't know anything about it.

"I'm already used to being associated with other clubs in the media, but I don't know anything.

"I am very happy at Lazio and things are going very well, so that's what I'm focusing on."

De Vrij has been praised for his performances in Italy since linking up with Lazio last summer and has 25 Serie A appearances to his name to date.

Lazio have the 23-year-old locked down on a contract until the summer of 2018.
