Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe says that confidence is still high in the dressing room at Anfield despite the side's defeat to Manchester United before the international break.

The Reds slipped to a 2-1 defeat to their fierce rivals that has put them five points off a top four spot in the Premier League.

Liverpool went into the match against the Red Devils on a superb unbeaten run stretching back to December and as the Premier League's most in-form team.

And Ibe says that Liverpool's defeat to Manchester United has not affected confidence, with the focus now being on going on another winning run.

However, the winger knows Liverpool must get back on track in their next match, which is away to Arsenal.

"They've won the majority of the games and just lost this recent game, so hopefully they can build on it and win the next game coming up against Arsenal and just go from there until the end of the season", he told LFC TV.

"Definitely [the dressing room is still confident]. Hopefully we can just get top four or even higher than fourth place and that would be really good for the team.

"It's for the team to crack on because although they have lost a game they have still been on a high, so we need to keep going and climbing up the table, getting points and staying with the teams in front of us", Ibe, who is currently out of action with a knee injury, added.

Liverpool are fifth in the Premier League table with 54 points from 30 games. Brendan Rodgers' men have eight league games left to try to finish in the top four.
